Great job, fitted it played with the catch. Now the fun bit had to take her for ablast to see if was ok.First 30 miles ok ,just as i thought it was sorted the box came open
good job i had a piece of cardboard with me,WEDGE it in and off i went.
This time i had to take her for a 100 mile blast, just to make sure
Does life get better than this i think not

The only way it'll get better is if you go out for another drive (to test the glovebox) and this time come to York, give me a ride (and keys :-) and hopefully persuade my baby to get off the driveway and pass her MOT........

Hi Steve,
Are you sure 100 miles to test the effectiveness of your temporary repair to the glove box is enough? Personally I would give it another 100 miles tonight and a more thorough test on the weekend? ;-)
Gareth.

Steve,
Ditto I've got one of those on mine - prev owner added some magnetic catches to aid the thing. Can't open it when stopped but give it some accel and it opens Unfortunately; leaky rear tyre, rad and fuel pipe means a 100 mile blast is out of the question - only mildly jealous
Enjoy your "testing"

Was it a replacement or a fix to the existing one?
PS What type of cardboard do you use

Had it reveneered done a great job. I can sell you some special cardboard guaranteed to hold the glovebox shut, but its not cheap at £50 per inch

Expensive...hmmm... must be good then but is that an inch wide or an inch long.

Must look for a new glove box door.
