Gunna have one of them kits, as you say there very well priced. Just the job. The crack is with the G3 just small araes at a time with plenty of water as you go and the wedge should come up a treat.

Do not let the edge of the pad rub against any paint work .. it will rub thru in no time.

Ask me how I know .. frown

Personally, I've never been a fan of G3 or any of "that" range really. Its OK, but there are better products out there. I know "Poorboys SSR" range comes very highly recommended from most professional car detailers.

Lots of professional compounds, polishes etc here:

As far as detailing goes, lots of info here:

Hope you find it useful.

Well, following on from the post above, I bit the bulllet and got me a polisher. I did a huge chunk of research and decided against a random orbital as mentioned above. You can make a right mess of your paint if you don't know 100% what your doing.

Instead, I went for this:
http://www.autopia-carcare.com/son-udmsfx-kit.html

Yes ok its from the states so is 110V and transformer is needed BUT what a great machine. I haven't started on the wedge yet, but had a few hours playing with it on the X5 and the paint looks so different now. The finish is now completly free from any swirl marks etc. I would even say for the £200 it cost me (machine, transformer, extension cable etc) its money very well spent yes

This thread goes into a little more detail about what they do and how to import them:
http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.p...

I very much recommend one!
