Windscreen wiper

Can anyone tell me please what the equivalent model is for a Tasmin 280i windscreen wiper head + blades? (i.e. if I go into Halfords, what is the equivalent car make and model)

I usually take the old item in with me and hand it to the bod behind the counter and say "a new one of these please" - hey presto & Bob's your Uncle an new widget!

Unfortunatly the one that's currently on there is the wrong one - it won't clip onto the arm, and falls off whenever I switch the wipers on! It's not the blade, it's the bit the blade slots into. Maybe some gaffer tape is the answer!

I'm in a similar position myself. Started a rebuild of my car about 2 years ago and lost the original arm, so nothing to compare it with. I wanted to replace it with an arm and spray bar but the only source of these that I know of is RT racing and they are currently out of stock. Richard thought the arm was off an early Vauxhall Cavalier, although he wasn't 100% sure.

Ahh that bit. Well there's a thing. I needed that very bit for one of the cars I was building (the rally project) so over the last couple of years I have taken them off cars that I've broken. I was looking through some stuff for the 350 tother evening and found 3 of these spindles (i.e. the bit that comes through the GRP at the bottom centre of the screen panel). All 3 are different - different diameters and spline lengths. Amazing Sorry not so +ve

I may be way off base here, but I'm sure I heard somebody say they were off a transit van! Funny if true. The one on mine doesn't really seem original because it rubs on the bonnet a bit.

Ah well - I may just Araldite the one I have on for the time being - that should do the job!
