Trying to find out what disks are used for the 400SE as my friend wants to upgrade his 290i (230 BHP)
Ok as far as I know the 400SE uses MK2 Granda Vented disc's
But do a search for disc's I get the following models.
Part Model TYPE Size Thick- Min Height Front Rear Fixing PCD
ness Thick Bore Bore Holes
KBD 025 Ford, TVR F V 262.50 24.00 23.00 73.00 69.00 111.00 5.00 95.00
KBD 026 Ford, TVR F V 260.00 24.00 23.00 53.00 64.00 137.00 5.00 112.00

The 025 if for the MK2 and 026 is for MK3
the only problem that I can see with the 025 is the PCD, unless this is wrong on the spec sheet.

The 025 seems to have the correct height as I know they need a long bell.

The other option may be to do a triple upgrade.
Upgrade the AP system on the BBWRC
Fit the old AP system to The 400SE
then Sell my 400SE set-up to my friend for his 290i

That way I can upgrade to cars for aprox £400.

My 350 that I upgraded to 400 style also had seperate lightweight bells - sourced from an ex racer smile, but my 400 has one peice.

That's odd. Is it possible they've been changed after the car was built? What sort of calipers are fitted?

My '89 400se has separate rotors / bells of 270mm x 28mm if that's any help.

Hi N7.

Do you know if yours are standard.

I've had my 400SE 14 years, got it at 24,000 2nd owner did not have a clue, so unless mods was done by the 1st owner, but I have every bill from new, and there is nothing about new disc's etc. so I'm sure its 100% standard apart from the mods I've done. all reverable.

I'm sure it one of the very early ones as it has the air hoses from the front spoiler to the side vents to supply freash air.

AFAIK it is standard. Mines's Feb. '89, also had the air hoses, but I've re-routed them as fresh air feed for the air filter. Does your's have the 4 piston calipers then?
