Any Wedgers know a half decent place to stay on IOW?
Not worried by exact location but must be suitable for access/parking for 3 - 6 TVRs and not cost the earth!
Need rooms for 1 night sometime next June/July for TVR Run I am organising

Which one smile

She also has a very large house over looking the beech with a nice private beach. As I found out once, when dropping a boat load of skiers and bbq stuff for an afternoon of fun. The gaurds were not amused smile

An old friend of mine has a small hotel in Shanklin - with a hearty breakfast second to none - You choose the night before how many sausages, fried eggs, rashers of bacon, scoops of scrambled eggs etc etc etc you want - you can have as much as you like !!

If anyones interested I'll post his details

Yes my mum runs a small Guest house on the IOW in shanklin. and there is a public carpart next to it. parking is free from 6pm to 10am.

It only has 5 room, so this may limit numbers unless people are sharing.

I'm sure I can sort a good deal out for you.

If I know Leigh I expect theres a secret underground heated multi Wedge parking bay, complete with a massive parts distribution centre! - I have a picture in my mind a bit like Tracey Island in Thunderbirds hehehehe

No but, yeh, but no but, seriously thanks for the head ups one an all will do a bit more snooping but part time public parking is deffo no no - agree with you on that one Daz.

The Mrs and I went to The Shanklin Hotel (which strangely enough is in Shanklin) several years ago for a weekend. Cheap enough, indoor pool, private car park wink but full of old duffers coming to breakfast (and dinner) in their Pj'syikes

Sounds cool and I wish. I had underground parking.

There is very little crime in the IOW, but can understand not wanting to be in a private car park.
but then again most hotel carparks are semi private also.

Is that right? I remember going there on holiday _many_ years ago and exploring the bunkers. I snaffled some excellent silver-plated connector blocks as a souvenir!!!

Its behind the battery (big guns not duracells). At one point we were up in the space race.

Not much left now. Edit to earlier post, it should have been rocket engines, the completed lot was sent up elsewhere.
