Look's like the 400SE may become a 500SE.

Well I may have the option on a 300BHP 5ltr Engine.
But that's too much for class C.

So may put that in the 400SE and the 400SE engine in the RaceCar.

All depends on price.

Dont de-value your 400 by making it a bitsa, changing the engine wont make it a 500SE and if its only got 300 horses why bother ?

Yeah - also it's much cheaper to just change the 4 to a 5 on the back and drill a few holes in the exhaust...

its not the hp but the torque thats so inpresive from a larger engine slipping the clutch very slightly the car will pull away in 3rd if asks to with not one complant
ps
uprate the drive shafts at the same time with raceing uj as mine were only about 100 miles old when i did my engine change and thay then lasted another 800 mile before thay went and thay were greased 3 times within the 800 milas but that was no good
the gearbox is the standerd one but also have a t5 gearbox after speaking with rt i keep the standerd one and its ok aslong as u put sinthetic oil in it
hope this helps u

It's only temporary I will be changing the engines back over after the season.
And put the 5ltr in the Racecar and join Class B.

I don't fancy running in class B stright away.
May even have to restrict the 4ltr as lost time it was on a RR it was 239BHP and I think the max I can go at current weight is 230. thats 175 BHP per Ton at the wheels.

So it won't become a bitsa. and I'm not trying to pass it off as a real 500SE, plus not going to change the badges. so will be a stelth 400SE

Interesting phrase; since TVR never made one, not even a prototype, what's one of those?

No but there was a second hand one....

anyway are you sure that you want to thrash the living daylights out of your road car engine?

Well It will get a full rebuild once the year's over. plus will get a oil change after each race.
Plus they get a good thrashing on the road anyway.

As long as it warmed up and has a rev limiter can't see it doing much harm. its only done 30k so only really just run in.

Plus I can't ever see myself selling it.

300 Real BHP is very good for a Std TVR 5ltr engine most are getting 260-280 but as said they will have a lot more torque also.
