Right then you lot thats enough moaning and wingeing!!!
serious advice wanted as to whats the best cam to fit in my 350 flapper?
Just want a straightforward change of cam and followers
to give me the power back plus extra acceleration.
Looks as though it can be done without engine out is that correct?
Iam waiting for a reply from RPI as regards there new Piper Torquex-Max Kit. Is this what i need?
Any advice apreciated.

PS have checked the archive but it seems that a lot of the data-base has been deleted!

I have an 'RP1' cam from RPI on my car (fitted when I bought it). Can't comment other than to say it's a 'fast road' job and I feel that the torque curve is higher up the rev range than I'd like, sometimes.

Short of buying a selection of cams and swapping them about, I don't know how anyone finds camshaft Nirvana..

hi,

i ive got the kent 218 kit in my 350i 1987 from kent cams and it has got 600 miles on it know and is running fine and pulls well, with a rising rate fuel regulater this will help pick up from low rpm cos the cam comes in a little further up the rev range.

yeh the 218 seems to be a popular choice but it seems to me that most people think that it works best at mid rev range. I'm no speed freakbut want best acceleration from idle.
