The tricky bit is going to be actually getting one. From my experiences, ford seem to wash their hands of everything thats more than a few years old...
The best one was when I wanted a crank bolt for holding the front pulley on the Vixen engine. They swore blind that I wanted an M12 fine thread. I asked them whether an American manufacturer would have used metric threads in 1970 on a crossflow engine, and they said, yup, thats the bolt you need.
muppets. I wasnt surprised when it turned out to be UNF.
Their dumb-arse parts system has decided that since the ka and recent Festers have gone metric, that extant engines must also have also received an overnight visit in the garage by the metric fairy.
So, you may be better off with one of the independant Ford parts bys who specialises in the ld stuff. I cant think of the name right now cs Im bleary-eyed and still have dribble down my face after a night where my snoring has been competing for noise with:
-pissed people,
-the death rattle that the lift makes as it clatters about in the lift shaft
-my bloody room fridge which I have now exacted revenge on by unplugging
Ugh.
still, google should yield the names of some "old skool ford" people. You could eve ntry asking on the oldskool ford forum, but you might want to masquerade as a Capri owner, if you can bring yourself to without vomiting blood.

Many many moons ago my expansion tank sprang a leak by the top hose union and I fixed it by welding it with a soldering iron. Just stuck the iron in the split and stirred it about to melt the split away then shaved a little bit more plastic from the side of the mounting flange and melted that over the repair to strengthen it (done when cold of course). It has been used through a couple of hot summers since with no leaks.
