Much of the wiring has now been sorted but there are a couple I am unsure of. These are:
1) the 2 green wires (one lime green, the other slightly darker)which are from the original Ford wiring and go into a single bullet type connector
2) the brown wire which goes into the original black connector, again assume from the Ford loom and then join the TVR black loom.
Both of these are on the n/s and connect up near the radiator. I need to know what they are supposed to be connected to?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have these two wiring diagrams for the later wedges, don't know if they will help or not.

Plese downloads the 2 wiring diagrams I have one full Tiff and the other from the bible as 600dpi PDF.

If I have voilated any copyright then I will remove, but the bible diagram says its from TVR engineering. and the other sent to me by darren.

Leigh,
Thanks, I've had a look at these are both V8 diagrams, assume from Steve Heaths book. I have the SH bible and the diagrams (which are the same formats) but these 2 wires are a mystery.
It doesn't matter what colour comes off these I just need to know where they go, assuming the later Ford colours are the same. Failing that may need to look at another 280.
Or even what colour the Tiv wiring is coming out of these 2 should provide an answer.

All the bumf I can find suggests brown is a permanent live and green a switched live. So the connectors could have been for just about anything that needed 12v...

What has happened here is the wiring got caught on the pod height limit bracket (that sits on the leading edge to stop the pod shaking) and has drawn any wire that it could, through the engine bay, breaking wires at will up to 8 feet away!..this brown wire, (as mentioned) permenatly live and the green switched wires had unmarked black wires going into them at the black plug in the picture, Paul and I were hoping that a 280i owner WITH coloured wiring would be able to trace this wire visually through the loom to where it ends up. These feed back from the ignition system and are the last wires to solve.
TIA

I would suggest the greens to the single bullit connector are for one end of the ballast resistor (wire) for the ignition coil.

Regards,

Chris.

Hi Chris,
I will check that out, the thought of the female bullet NOW facing the wrong way, had not entered my thoughts, and the Ford ballest wire is coiled under the fuel distributor, and I did not check to see if was missing a connection. (Green/ballest is a ignition switched operation).
Many thanks.

Hi Paul...job for you, the ballest resistor wire is loosely coiled under the fuel mech. and is light blue in colour, 5mm thick with intergal for male ends to it, thinking about it this is coil/engine side of the connecting block that we are looking at, my thought is that the wire missing is from the fuse boxes coming into that block...but, until we get a confirmation off another Tasmin/280i.
