Can anyone else go back further than about 51 of the 697 pages? The search doesn't go back any futher either frown

I don't know what the problem is but the search facility was really useful in picking the brains of past and present Wedge owners. Whatever problem you had you could always get a load of useful results from the search facility. Thank goodness we are a helpful bunch otherwise we'd be out there on our own clap

Wedge pages down as well frown

Not sure why you can't page back any further.

Here's some stuff from page 102:

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/forum.asp?h=0&a...

The searching is a limitation of the database we use. Full text searching will only work on about 4GB of data and so the search database is limited to the last 18 months or so.

For more than that you could try Google and add sitetongue outistonheads.com to the end.

Happy to be corrected/educated, but that's our experience and I've found other people experiencing the same:

This is a bit of a nightmare, in this day and age we shouln't be restricted to 4 gigs.

I used to archive all the posts from the previous mailing list and have them on CD ROM, but I didn't bother with this one because I assumed a reasonable list lifetime. Oh well.

I think your find its 4gigs as that the limit of a 32bit search engine.
This is also the limit of fat32 file system.

you can't search more than 4gig but you can page though manualy. or use google as Ted said.

It's not specifically 4GB, that's just the point at which it starts to slow up. In due course I'm sure we'll have another look at it and see if it can be improved.

Ted - someone on here said you had retired to a Carribean Island and that the Porsche GT3 was of no use because there were no roads and for a day job...

Aside from my lack of talent I've had too many pies to get into the Stig's overalls.

Did you notice when Lewis H went round the track, there wasn't a shot of him and the Stig in the same frame....

Anyway, I tried google, but that only retrieved a fraction of the 1700 posts I have made over the years.

Nice one Ted,

Four minute response to a post.

We all thought you had run off with the money.

Unless you are sat on a WiFi enabled beach in Cancun?

Wee man.
