It's official I have found Satans very own circlip and it's on my Wedge! Or at least it should be.

Removing it was tricky enough but as for getting it back on, I think I need satans help! It's massive. It's supposed to stop my nice shiny new wheel bearings coming out. Hmmm, took enough percussion adjusting to get them in there, can't imagine them coming out again. Suppose I'm gonna have to put satans circlip back somehow though :sulk:

PS Rich, I even took the day off work for her, there's dedication for you

I don't remember having a problem with this when I changed one of mine a few years back (rear I assume!!). Sounds like either some dirt or a burr in there somewhere

Is the bearing fully seated? If it's not then you won't get the c clip back in it's groove. It took about 10 tonnes of pressure to push one of the bearing fully home when I replaced them a few months ago. The other one only needed a couple of tonnes.

I can't squeeze the little bu$$er enough to get it in the hole! Any good techniques? My ickle circlip pliers aren't man enough for the job :-( Mined ewe I have just bought some chunky pointy pliers which might do the job. They may also be useless and overpriced but that's what comes of going to B&Q after a few

Fairly sure the bearings are in the hole far enough, with the help of a BIG hammer :-)

Sounds like you need to get a decent set of circlip pliers. Otherwise a hammer and punch may do the trick

I must admit, messing with criclips with circlip pliers is a lot easier than long nose pliers. Bought mine in a set from Maplins years ago, small med large etc. Don't know if they still do them.

Heres the trick if you aint got tidy circlip pliers........(im assuming its an internal circlip)
get some strong wire that fits the oles-compress the circlip with pliers, vice or whatever, then twist the wire to keep the clip compressed-insert said clip into bore-cut wire-tap into place till clip is in groove-job done and Bobs your fathers brother.
Have fun!!
