Hello everybody

I will have to replace the Brakes on my 350 soon. Has anybody expierience with Hitec or Willwood brakes? In the past i made my own conversion for my Scimitar Coupe with AP-Racing components, but this is a very expensive way.
So i would be glad to hear your opinions about these two makes and what you are using the car for.

Any help greatly appreciated
Oli

The link above tells you all you need to know about Wilwood brakes.(Not good)

Personaly, I got a big disc and caliper conversion from Tower View Racing, but there are many ways to go and many different opinions as to which is best.

Wilwood callipers are well known and generally well regarded, and I've used them for years without any problems. The problem is the other parts you need - mounting brackets, rotors, bells etc. The rotors are service items so you need to buy from somebody who you can rely on to supply replacements when you need them. I have spent over a year waiting for parts that were repeatedly promised 'next week, for sure'. The parts may have been high specification, but the service certainly wasn't. Now I buy from BG Developments and I am entirely happy with the service and parts I get from them.

A spot of Google research cast a cloud over the other supplier mentioned by the OP though I did see that they are used on the Purple Shed which implies they are quality products even it the customer care is reported as lacking.

Willwood calipers are good and the kit to fit them from Tower View (with discs, pads, brackets and spacers) is good, in my opinion anyway.

The above link refers to the company Hi Spec, which appear to be a bit unreliable in the past, with supplies arriving not on time and the quality of their disks and calipers being a bit poor sometimes.
I have heard good things about them too ie when they get it right their stuff is quite good, so they might be victims of their success, too many orders etc.

I personally would contact tower view, and see what they have brake wise, as i have never heard a bad word said about them.
