There is a lot of muck in the plenum intake (I have removed the hose from the filter to it). This to me, seems bad, does an one have any ideas how it could get there? It is an oil grit ( prehaps a mixture of fuel and fine dust that has found its way through the filter?) Engine oil seems reasonably clean (due a change but not bad)

The body is still leaning to one side (offside front wheel arch clearance of 1 of my fat digits compared to near side which has 3 fat digits). I have tried lifting the body up to see if a rubber had perished, but the whole car moves with it.A crack is developing behind the engine which I fear may be due to body twist. If someone had made a bad job of outrigger repair, could that cause a problem like this? Is there a body specialist I could take the car to for further investigation? It is concerning me that I may have a major chassis or shell problem.

The engine is also heavily covered in oil, although not using too much. Is this fairly normal? It doesn't leave big patches on the floor just a couple of drip marks.

If I push down on the front wheel arches (ie rocking the car up and down) there is a clunking noise. I rebuilt the suspension about a year ago with new springs polybushes and steves drop links but nothing else. I have checked the ARB bolts are tight. Any ideas?? The rubber seats for the springs were on their last legs....? The car handles beautifully, with very little play in the steering.

Sorry to waffle on but I figured if I could cover these in one go, saves coming back later. So Thanks in advance.

Mucky Plenum.....Yep....Take it off & give it a good clean along with the trumpets.

Leaning body.....Yep...The three that I've had have more space under near side.

Engine covered in oil...Nope, but can be a common thing with no head gasket issues.

Creaking.........Yep...Mine's got a crack in the outrigger at the mo. Going in to be replaced next month.

Oily engine - mostly at the bottom = nip up the sump bolts.

At the top too = probably the rocker cover gaskets. Check the rocker cover screws, if in doubt replace the cork gaskets with rubber ones.

Feel like I was being paranoid now!! Thanks guys that has made me feel better... Will look into the gasket issues. I'm too simple to do anything like engine oil seals.
