Has anyone got any pictures/photos of the rear of the chassis, including the rear suspension set up for the A Frame cars? If so I could appreciate having them emailed to me. Let me know and I'll sort my email address (dont want to post it up and get inundated with spurios emails for Viagra and the like!!!)

Reason for asking is we are thinking of converting the trailing arm set up to A frame set up. Its not hard to fabricate and I soooo dont like these trailing arms. It would also mean we could brace the rear of the chassis where the outriggers and the seat sits as this is such a stressed area that is prone to failure and the TVR design is somewhat lacking around this bit!!!

Thanks in advance

Nick

It's a pig of a job. I'd recommend adding tie bars to the trailing arm setup, or selling the car and buying another with A-frame instead.

I would recommend removing the body first.

There aint much room to swing a MIG torch under there... Also, I think the rear diff carrier is quite different. Thats a b*stard to remove too. Well, reomval is OK, but the diff is reallyreallyreally heavy, and putting it all back in is a total git, especially when you come to do up the rearmost bolts that bolt the rear Uchannel section of the diff carrier to the rear crossmember underneath the boot. I did manage to get a gun in there, but god knows how.

Still, if you like a challenge... knock yerself out, dude!

Ed.

Dont worry Ed, the body came off last weekend, the chassis is stripped down now. The diff was heavy but didnt take long to get off, neither did the trailing arms. If I knew how to put pictures in here I would, because its all being documented for the cars history. Welding wont be a problem, the chassis can be spun over as and when needed to help with weld penetration.

Not currently,

The plan is to convert it to a race spec rose joint strethened chassis.
