Hi Guys,

Sadly this morning i have had an accident in my 84 TVR Tasmin 350i.

Was approching a corner and it understeered badly, the car ran straight on a hit a kurb at speed and r an over some rough ground.

The front wheel is smashed, the suspension is broken and it looks like the front subframe is damaged.

Im just getting the car recovered now.

Im based in Darlington, County Durham.

Basically i need to find a specalist who can come and have a look for me or any other enthusiasts who want to drop by and give me an opinion on repair costs etc.

Insurance isnt a viable option, i have motor traders insurance and i know they wont be interested in covered repair of my own accident.

Any help appreciated, my number is 07766424658.

Cheers Guys,

Ash.

No help on repairs i'm afraid, but hopefully it won't be as bad and it can be sorted quickly and'relatively' cheaply.

Cheers for the replies.

Hopefully i was in shock and over reacted a bit before,

It looks like the bottom ball join is smashed, and i need two new wheels.Other than that it all *looks* okay. Ill try and post some pictures later on for you guys to look at. No body damage, counting myself very very lucky.

Anyone know the best place to get a balljoint? Is it a universal ford part or do i need a TVR specialist?

Thanks again,

Ash

A135TAS?
That wouldn't be a very clean gold coloured wedge by any chance?

MKII Ford Granada; stub axle casting, hub, disc and brake calliper
MkIV Cortina; upper and lower wishbones tie rod and steering rack upper and lower ball joints(Unipart numbers GSJ122 AND GSJ123).

Found some more info

Front balljoints Mk2 granny joints will fit but the 2 small holes in the wishbone have to be slightly elongated. They are a beefier joint and should not change the geometry but check before and after.

Thanks for the info, have ordered some wheels from ebay and will get some balljoints tommorow. Hopefully with the aid of some good freinds we will be burbling along again next week.

Yes this car used to belong to Gavinr and i believe is well known in the club scene, dont worry its still in good hands and get the occasional blat out, today was the wrong day though frown

Nige ill drop you an email. You are the second local wedge owner to get in touch today - amazing!

Some pics, not much to see though.
