Hi guys
Does anyone know about Tasmin chassis numbers?
My car is an X reg 1981 registered Tasmin FHC , the chassis number is FH5064F1

I would like to know how early my car is , i.e. what number off the production line it is.

The Wedge Bible states that FH5065F1 is a June 1980 car, does this mean that my car is one of the first 6 that were made in 1979 according to the Bible

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

Andy

You can ask Steve Heath on here (he is the author of the bible), or if you are a TVRcarclub member ask them.

No. Tasmin chassis numbers started 5001 so your chassis is the 64th. The chassis were often made in batches, numbers allocated and the cars then finished and it is quite common for chassis numbers to be out of sequence with registration dates. Sometimes cars sat at dealers for a few months before being registered which is what I suspect happened to yours.

IIRC there was one that went to the far east (Hong Kong, I think) but didn't sell so it returned 18 months later.

Let me know when it's lifting time and I'll pop over. I'm sure we can pressgang a few more assistants into service.
