Roll bar (Towerview / roll centre type)
Discussion
Towerview/roll centre bar in a SEAC:

Definitely enough room with padding to clear hood, but it may vary from car to car. It was also OK when I had one fitted to my previous 350se.
Head clearence will vary depending on your seat type and height.
Definitely doesn't improve the car looks and will cause transmission, suspension and fuel pump transmitted noise into the cabin.
The advantage of the rollcentre bar is that it is bolted in so not that diffficult to remove and refit. The rear mounts stay fixed to the chassis and only just show on the rear parcel shelf.

I thought Towerview had shutdownDavid
Yup - have had a Rollcentre/TV one in mine for over 8 years. As others have said, it does cause an increase in cabin noise but, as I got mine fitted due to the amount of track use the car was getting, the noise doesn't bother me - I'd rather have the safety! There's certainly head clearance for me (not much point if there isn't!) but obviously will depend on your height and which seat you have fitted (I've got a race seat).
Apart from the safety aspect of it, the rear end stiffness increased and consequently improved the handling of the car on track. The wedge is pretty forgiving on circuits but the rollbar seemed to take out some of the flexing or what appeared to be 'softness' of the back end. Unless you're doing trackdays or driving madly on the road, I can't see to many benefits of having it fitted - a full cage would be different as it would also protect more from other types of road collisions etc.
Dave Wallis should still be contactable via TV's old number (it's forwarded to his Norfolk number). Saw Dave a couple of weeks ago and he confirmed this. He does have another number which someone may be able to provide you.
