Electrical problems

Hi
my recently aquired 350i (1987) has a few electrical probs which i am struggling with.
The indicators don't work,
the Hazards don't work and
the drivers side head light doesn't pop up.
Do they all share the same earth?
Also i've got the 'Bible' but the relays in my car don't match the pattern of any in the book? - in my car there's 5 accross the top with 2 rows of 7 underneath, so i don't which is which, any one got a diagram?
I have tried swapping the diodes over but still only the p/s light works.

Here you go, this might help, it's the relay layout on my 1986 350i. I've posted this a few times now, I really must draw a tidy copy!

Start of with the very basics, fuses, relay's, bulbs and make sure all connections are clean. Also, the relays have a habit of pushing the connectors out of the back of the socket when you fit them so check the back of the relay board for loose connections.

Many thanks for that. Are there any common earths for the headlights, indicators and hazards, if so were?

I'm not sure if there are any common earth connections to all those. What you could try is running a long earth wire direct from the battery and touch that on various earth connectors of the items that are currently (pardon the pun) not working and see what happens.
