My younger brother visited me over the weekend, saying he had a new toy, but wouldn't say what. He turned up later in his new (K reg) car, a Mazda mx5!! Hmmm.. I thought, how should i handle this? (tactfully) He invited me to look over it. It turned out to be quite a clean tidy little car.
He then proceeded to relay stories of power and acceleration!! Oh s@;t this is going to be a long afternoon, but i did not want to hurt his feelings.
I suggested we go for a drive and stop at a pub somewhere. Me and the wife in the wedge, followed by brother and his girlfriend in the mighty mx5!! Time to humiliate little brother...he he. I haven't had so much fun!!!!!!! I would let him follow closely then boot it, you all remember star wars, and the jump to light speed? No different! Problem was then i had to slow to let this small silver dot in my mirrors catch up. That'll learn him i thought, i was amused (not wife though).
So there we were at the pub, my brother trying to be as cool as he could. I recognised the look of respect from my little brother as he muttered something about turbos...!
A great day was had by (nearly) all. And i didn't mention hairdressers once....!
As a wise man once said "BIG BAD WEDGE"

I thoroughly enjoyed my overtaking move on an MX5 Turbo! on the Monmoth to Tintern Road last summer whilst out for a blat (I was in the 400 which has now been repalced by a 420 - ooer). Like you I don't think the good lady thought it was fun (mind she was 4 months pregnant - oops - the little fella loves his Wedges - wonder why!).
One of my friends came round tother day in his new MR2 and asked me to come and look at his "Sportscar" - he was miffed when I stood on the drive and exclaimed - "where is it - ohh you mean the girlies Roadster" - couldn't resist it

I did the same to a friend just talking about it, and while this was actually SD1 Vitesse V MX5 my SD1 did have the same heart as a wedge even if it wasn't quite standard (thankyou JE Engineering !) does this still count ?
