Recieved the normal invite to supply the government with another contribution last week for the benefit of having a lovely Wedge.
Ok, so today off to the Post Office I go with relevant documents and cheque for £99 for 6 months. Gotta keep the Wedge legal you know.

"Sorry sir, we need £101:75 due to the Budget increase"
Seems this increase is because of the emissions.

rage Yet again we are being stiched up......for censored sake, I don't do many miles in the Wedge and yet still have to pay the same so surely my emissions are going to be less.

As usual the government fail to deliver. Thought there was going to be a rolling year for cars not having to pay the tax but no.

And breath..............................................drink

I know what you're saying, but it's the 1,000 miles a week in the other one which keeps me from complaining too much...and it costs more to insure than the Wedge ! wink

Its a killer huh?? Does any one know about the debate for classic car tax?? My dads triumph roadster is tax exempt due to its age ( and probably the fact that it has done 75 miles in the last 2 years)

Are you seriously complaining about £2.75?

Nothing to do with emissions, just raising tax.

Yes, so you use less fuel than the 2,000 miles a month guy and so pay less fuel duty, VAT, and VAT on the fuel duty.

That lasted for one year.

It affects older cars in that emissions is based on cc for pre 2001 cars and there's a 1550cc split; no use to any TVRs though since 1300 vixens et al are tax exempt.
