Rocker covers ....

I have a spare set of RV8 rocker covers and I am thinking of spraying them to match the car (Starfire Red) Given the heat of the engine / engine bay, any advice on prep and which paint to use would be appreciated. (I do not have a spray gun so cans will be the way)

sprayed mine with cans 2 years ago, paint has stayed on ok, only used normal car paint.
