Roof section needed

Hi all.

I noticed that my roof section wasn't sitting right, since I got the car back.

Closer inspection reveals a bodged front lug, which has split the housing where it's fixed. I'm not happy to drive quickly with it like that.

Anyone know of a tidy spare (black) one for sale ?

I think you can get the roof tabs from TVR CarParts.com if it helps.

The tab itself looks alright, but looks as if somehow it has been pulled about,
and split and 'swollen' the socket that it fits into.

That doesn't look good. Will the tab pull out? If so I would fill the hole with glass fibre resin & some matting, then while it's all wet clamp it back together (you might want to press it together by hand a few times first to work the resin in to any cracks.)

Then, when it's set, drill out a hole for another tab. You could reuse that one or get some aly bar the same general shape and thickness. Then put epoxy in the hole and push the new tab in place.

I'll give it a go. Certainly worth a try, if the targa would otherwise be scrap.

I've worked with fibreglass before, just a long time ago.

I'd still like to find another one as a spare though.
