Cheers Guys. I have no stepper now and have just installed an Emerald ecu. I see some of the wedges have this same small pipe that tees of the main thicker pipe that goes from rocker top to plenum at the throttle) and some dont( mine does). The small pipe tees and goes to the plenum base. It seems that the car will idle alot better without this small pipe..just wondering if its needed now or not with stepper gone.

Simon, it must have been something on the hotwire versions then. Mine was a flapper until I had the Motec installed, so no luxuries like idle control.BB

On ours the o/s breather feeds to the air side of the burrterfly as per the pics posted above, yet there is an additional T piece located throttle side that links to the trumpet base.
At idle the engine is then enabled to breathe through the breather set up.
Taking the stepper out of the system leads you to set up the throttle stop giving a mall amount of air for the idle to be maintained, the difficulty being that once you set that at a reasonable opening, the engine then breathes past the buttterfly and through the breather system, giving you a false idle.
The debate then comes as to whether you set the engine up to just breathe through the breather sytem at idle, and close the butterfly completely, or do you plug the additional breather to the trumpet base and bleed air past the butterfly.
The other deabte is to whether this T piece is a restricted bypass T piece or just fully open, it does not seem to have any one way restriction, and don't know whether it should have some form of restriction in terms of it's ability to breathe ?
The consequence of plugging the trumpet base feed being the butterfly get's an amount oil from the breather system rather than it going direct to the trumpet base. It's not massive amounts of course. I imagine a flapper set up is like this, and wondered on what view there were.
At the moment I have a completely closed butterfly and i'm letting it idle through the breather sytem via the trumpet/breather set up.
The debate goes whether to plug and use the throttle stop and what may be the consequences . .
Number7, I finally have the figures to prove the Griffith is officially more powerful than your Wedge . . . it is a reassuring feeling
been after it for a while.
If we are going to enter into a power race, you know I'll win, and you do have a gap to catch up first
. . . I know I have an advantage in capacity, so a little unfair

But being as this is a Big Bad Wedge , the most powerful Wedge in the world, and would blow your Griff. clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya punk?

7.You make your own luck . . . Gauntlet is down . . . How are we going to settle it ?
