Boot won't open
Discussion
Yeah that happened to me. Should have seen that one coming really.
It has done that on several occasions, when it first did it I pulled out the switch, and tested it for voltage, there wasn't any, so I figured out which was feed by pressing the switch and testing the ground, ran a length from the fuse box, and it opened.
But the last time it happened I wasn't so lucky. So what I had to do was pop the pin on the hinges, think I used a drill bit about 4mm and carefully tapped it out, make sure you use a dolly to support the other side of the hinge, I used a cross pein hammer, quite a hefty one, place a towel on the boot lid and rest the side of the hammer against the hinge. This is the part where you need to be married or have a girlfriend. First get her to put tea and biscuits down, and explain to her that the hammer isn't going to hurt the car, then you ask her to firmly apply pressure to the hammer against the hinge. Once opened gently tug on the cable between the actuator and mechanism and it will open. When you've sorted out the dodgy wiring or offending bit, make sure you connect a safety line neatly behind the trim, and somewhere easy to get to if you unscrew the speaker pod. when you re insert the pins, apply some threadlock first. johnny the prof

quite a lot about how to damage your car getting into the boot
there is a much faster, simpler and non-destructive way.
Trying to get ahead of the game for once. Can you also mail me with the instructions, please. If I don't ask, it'll probably fail this weekend.

always knows when I'm happy with her and then can't resist to wipe that smile of my face...
