will alloys off a newer model fit on a 280i wedge?

They have the same stud pattern and will therefore fit, the only issue could be clearance if you fitted much wider wheels.

Later Wedge or Later Tiv. Many later cars have 4 stud iLo 5. Take care with this and the offset.
