Anyone know this wedge ?. G490 RGC
Discussion
Mine was cat D when Brummmiewedge originally bought it (only attempted break-in), and then he did loads of work on it, including outriggers, engine change, interior etc, etc.
Since then it's had complete new rear suspension, inc.A-frames, and next week an uprated clutch.
Wedges are an ever-evolving series of upgrades and improvements, otherwise we'd have to find something sensible to do with our money.
Judge on condition.

Go for it!
Cat D is not a problem as long as the car is straight.
I belive we have talked about this in person.
Use your eyes and give it a good going over, plus take some one with you how knows the cars!
Andy.

I think this was one of several that we discussed, perhaps I will see you at your workshop and you can give me some advice, look forward to having a look and listen to your cerb too.
Regards,
Paul.
Cat D wouldn't bother me too much.
I see its a 350se and looks a nice example from the photos.
Some additional info on the 350se here:

I was just looking at this photo too and agree the rear looks like the owner's been to halfords with a couple of hundred quid to spend.
The spoiler, brake light, number plate and stickers look terrible.
I guess the spoiler could be taken off and holes filled, the stickers could be hairdryer-ed off and the number plate changed, but you'd still be left with the brake light in the boot lid. It is IN the bood lid isn't it? It's not stuck on?
I think that's enough to put me off investigating further you know. A shame cos the rest looks great. Also, as you say waynester, why no mention of the car's unique number. Certainly the wing stickers aren't there.

Buy another boot lid ?
It's the more easily obtainable external hinged type.
Presumably the car has had some paintwork if decals are missing.
Personally I think there are far more important issues to consider, such as chassis, mechanics, and interior trim. If these are up to scratch, then it's a good car for the money (less discount) IMO.
eta: Having looked at the pics again, it certainly looks like it's been loved during the past 2 years....very nice.

Hello , I bought this 350SE in March as my first TVR. It was a long trip but worth it I think. The damage to the back end was photographed and the complete car was re-sprayed at that time. Number plate and wrong decals have gone, replaced drivers electric window motor and frame work, replaced bearing at the bottom of the steering column, front discs/pads. Next on the list are manifolds, rear discs/pads, top/bottom ball joints then to have the rest of the exhaust system made. I quite like the centre outlet so going to stay with that. I hope to come to the BBWF, I take I would be able to turn up or should I book some were.
Hi Aaron !
Welcome to Wedgedom.
I thought it looked a nice car, and I'm glad to see it got a good home.
There is always something that needs doing on them, but that's probably what makes them 'interesting' too.
Let's hope we see you and your car at BBWF, and meanwhile you'll always find help, advice, and good banter on here.
