Got home at 1.30 to a nice shiny s/teel exhaust.
Took it straight to my mate (one eyed Dave)who runs the local garage.

Shouldnt take more than an hour he said,so i waited and held the inspection lamp...then i held the exhaust....then the lump hammer ....then the oxy/acet torch....after 4 hours he gave me a lift home. Now im holding my breath till tommorrow

Perhaps if he had two eyes he'd be able to do it in half the time??????

So you held the inspection lamp the exhaust the lump hammer but the oxy/ acetylene doesn't sound right, what was he doing with it ? which part of the exhaust didn't fit?
I'll hold my breath aswell then.

Sounds rather kinky whatever.

All that holding and no final action

Maybe the oxy/acetylene was used to cut the old exhaust off?

Ok heres the SP.
removed old exhaust (found middle section was already stainless steel and in good nick and is up for grabs if anyone wants it).
Manifolds were fitted last year supplied by TVR and fitted by One Eyed Dave.
Offered up new middle section and found left pipe, viewed from rear interfered badly with gear box and left hand flange out of align by 25mm. At this stage Dave advised me to put old one back on and return new as he didnt want to invalidate warranty. After much head scratching(and didnt have your phone number to hand Tim,for advice)I gave Dave the go ahead to"alter it" The alternative would have meant a trip to the manufacturers and get them to fit it.
I had every faith that should things had gone t.ts up that all would have resolved by you Tim (as you are such a nice guy-creep creep). Anyhow the hammer came out to get clearance for the gearbox,Oxy aectalene torch to heat up then bend pipe in two places.
This then threw out the rear flanges which we managed to take out by altering the back 2 hangers.
Finally the two tail pipes appear to be too long as they protrude about 3 inches past the rear bumper. Not a great problem as i will cut slots in them and use jubilee clips.(theyre only cosmetic anyway).
The drive home was AWESOME what a lovely deep burble.
This is in NO WAY a bad reflection on you or your service Tim. On the contrary it was due to the knowledge that your after sales service would have bailed me out that allowed me to go ahead and sort this myself.
And at the end of the day it may well have been the manifolds that were at fault.
Just another story that goes to show Wedges are unique eh!
Off out now to see if i can get flames out of the back end

If it wasn't mis-aligned manifolds it sounds like the exhaust was bent in transit then, as they are constructed in solid jigs, 25mm is completely out !! typically the Factory are now closed for a week, but any modifications would be no problem we would collect and re-deliver.
The tails are normally a couple of inches out from the bumper to avoid fumes, its easier to shorten than lengthen.
Obviously glad that you're up and running, BTW you can always phone me at weekends, a bit late now i know.
Sports system sound good doesn't it
Cheers Tim

So you won't be fully appreciating the roar from exhaust this morning then.

Morning all,
Judging by last nights posts theres more than one hangover today
The missus woke me with the comment "i dont know which is louder your snoring or your Wedge And by the way it was the last chance to hear our bands read in church this morning" ooops.
Todays job is to get the file out to make my nice shiny Leven Tech brake handle fit! Dont you just love interchangeability
I knew my trade would come in handy - fitter/turner (fit for nothing and turned out rubbish)
Onwards and upwards-Wedge on brothers.
