wont start

hi my 350i mk2 wont start, no spark. checked the fuses and connectors etc all seem ok. but it was misfiring last nite above 4000rpm. dont know if its linked. any ideas please.
its been stood over winter and passed its mot on monday no probs just think the coil has packed in???

Possibly coil, possibly ignition amplifier which is the small module on the dizzy.

When you say no sparks are you trying the king lead from the coil?

Otherwise it could be the dizzy cap or rotor arm too.
