Picked up car from garage after fuel lines replaced, need to go back and have swirl pot replaced.
Went to lower drivers side window,it started lowering then slowed right down then BANG ! shattered in zillions of peices.
Just spent the morning clearing the glass from inside the car and inside the drivers door.
Rac windscreens (my insurers approved suppliers) are on the hunt for a 87 tasmin door glass.
Why it exploded like that i havnt got a clue.

There's a place in Bristol that stock them. Can't remember where but someone will be along in a moment to tell us I'm sure!

Door window runners misaligned putting the glass under stress?

Thanks for the info.Have pm`d phil just incase rac auto windsreens? cannot locate one.
Had a look at the door mechanism but to my untrained eye it looks ok.
The part that hold the glass looks like it was filled with a mastic/putty type stuff is that the norm for securing the glass at the bottom?
Thinking about it iwonder if the rubber seals that are attached to the door card "gripped" the glass to much which caused it to come unstuck from the lifting rail/runner-then it dropped causing it to shatter ??
It scared me a bit and makes me hesitant to operate the passenger side window now!
