SD1 vitess and classic land-rover
They come up on ebay. not too expensive

I think my spair is still out on loan. else I'd say give it a try.

They have a resistive track thank can wear, you can test with a meter.

Look at the links at the bottom of the load equipment thread.

If the coolant temperature sensor hasn't been replaced recently (and the new one has proven to work as not all do.......) would have a look at this first before going into the more intelligent stuff.
Electrical connections to and from should be checked as well.
Could be it, but they don't go wrong that often.

Hi
basically it wouldn't rev past 2000 rpm (see posts 'won't rev past 2000rpm').
I dropped it off at my local garage (they are usually quite decent) last week, they are suposed to have checked things like dist cap, ht leads, timing, fuel pressure etc. They have come back with the air flow meter as being the problem.
I am tempted to get the car back and look for damage or loose wires etc as they quoted £220+vat for a new one.
Is the airflow meter 'standard rover' or 'improved by TVR'?

Its just that when someone says they suspect something and you are going to pay the bill, what do they suspect? Tested or this happened on a mate of a mate of a mates car once? Not meaning to be derogatory to the garage btw. How have they arrived at this diagnoses.

Sounds like there may still be issues from your 2000 revs thread, there are a few helps on wedgepages. Worth a look on there and I have a step by step guide for a hot wire gleamed from the net, must be one for a flapper. Also, V8 forums (?) worth a look see and ask?

ETA I broke down once. Call out diagnosed shot pump. Flat bed reckoned it was the ECU as well. Steve at BBWF diagnosed failed ignition amp and probably harmed the coil as well. My pump and ECU are still on the car and still OK. Could not rev high until a new amp fitted.

Second break down and the throttle pot was all up the spout. Unable to rev high.

Ok I'll put a link for you
goto http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
goto the bottom of the page and click on the like that says Flapper PDF.

This will give you instructions on how to test the AFM.
you will need a resistance meter £5-£50 but the £5 will work fine.
you can also use this to test the Temp. sender. you will have to do a search for the post where I posted the values.
