Spongy brake pedal feel .
Discussion
On a similar subject (and a slight hijack
) we replaced the seals and the brakes felt great, until they cooled down, at which point there was a lot of pedal travel until the front brakes bit. It looks like the rear brake piston does not return all of the way (even when the M/C is unbolted from the servo) which means the hole to the reservoir is covered and as the fluid cools and contracts it is not replenished. Applying a pressure bleed kit gives you perfect braking again until you stop and cars cools down.
At least I think that is what is happening.
Apparently the original Girling M/C is not longer available but there is a Delphi equivalent, has anyone fitted one of these? Last time I used a Delphi equivalent for the clutch M/C I had to get an adaptor made up as the thread on the outlet was different to the original.

Don't seem to be short of fluid as container is full , none dribbling out of rubber at top of pedal housing either ! Is it air getting in somwhere . If I pump pedal it tightens up nicely only to go back again .
exactly the same happened to me a couple of weeks ago and i nearly went into the back of a magnum type ferrari on a run out. Changed the brake fluid and bled the old stuff out seems to be ok now but i havent kicked its head in lately so might be just the same under some hard graft

Is that at the White Swan? As it's only 4 miles from where I work I spose I have no excuse ;^)
What time does it start?
We should be there around 7.30 - 7.45pm Thurs , see you there Adam ! Question , is there only one bleed screw on the back brakes as I can only find one on the passenger side . Bled them anyway and at present they are back to normal. What time does it start?
