Hi Guys,

Anyone had a problem with a short circuit in there wedge?

I dropped mine off at the garage for a service last week and had a frantic call a few hours later. Mechanic was out warming up the oil and the cab had suddenly filled with smoke, he jumped out and disconnected the battery.

Above the ECU on the passenger side is a block with three thick wires going into it - one of these wires has totally melted and dissapears deep into the dashboard.

Cars meant to be going to le mans on Thursday so its all a bit mad at the moment - the prince of darkness strikes again!

The car is a 1984 Tasmin with a 3.5 RV8 EFI in it.

Many Thanks!

Ash.

Could this be an immobiliser/alarm? The only other thing I can think of is the control module for the electric windows but I don't recall that being "thick wires".
