Headlight stopper rubber needed
Discussion
The light units have a bracket on them with a mushroom shaped piece of rubber which when the lights are up would site under the front of the car just behind the bumber. I assume they act as a stopper and hold the units in place. I have one which is solid and could do with replacing but don't have the other side. I have tried a conventional grommet but its not deep enough. The mushroom head is approx 17mm across, 10mm deep, with the shaft 10mm long and approx 8mm diameter.
I have remade the brackets in aluminium but need the rubber mushrooms.
Anyone know where I can get some? Assume all Wedges have them???
Cheers

The bracket isn't adjustable - it was a strip of steel bent to suit, attached to the recess at the bottom of the light pod and this rubber bit to stop it flying out.
Must be able to get some somewhere.

Sounds similar, the later ones are still bent metal with rubber but fastened in slots to give some adjustment.Must be able to get some somewhere.

One mounted to the bottom of the pod for the up pos'n and one mounted in the pod recess for the down pos'n. I guess some form of rubber door stop from B&Q may do the trick.

Sorry to jump in ,my passenger side pod sits lower then norm,is it a case of adjusting/bending these stops to get it correct?
Depends how low it is.The tie rod should be adjusted so that the pod goes slightly too low and then the lower and upper stops adjusted so the pod sits against the stop in both up & down pos's. Means you can get the down pos'n level and the upper stop takes out a lot of vibration with the lights on

Paul, you adjust it by the very technical procedure of cutting the length of the tube to allow more or less squash or thicker/thinner tube, along with the adjustment on the arms, as already posted the rubber just stops the pod springing up and down on the arms ( least that’s how I did it on the black 280 ) Must be able to get some somewhere.

I have the same problem. tried altering the arm but then the pod wont return flush. also swapped the motors over but still no cure, if you sort it let me know how becouse im stummpped on this one!Clive
Took passenger side pod off today because it was pretty erratic-most of the time not lifting untill lights had been switched off a minute or so !
Cleaned connectors and lubed joints etc-sorted ! light raise properly
also as a bonus cleaned contacts for rad sensor-for the first time i heard the fan running today (maybe coincidenece as quite hot day today)
Cliveon inspection i found a 4" length of hose which was attached to a bolt fitted to the floor under the pod housing it was quite loose i tried to tighten it up but it snapped off
i guess this was meant to be angled to stop the pod lowering too far, although it looked a bit of an half-assed affair- will look into this again when ive got more free time.Might get a block of foam rubber and attach it under the pod assembly.
