Hi,

I am looking at changing my front seats in the wedge but am unsure what seats i should be looking at and would like them to be lighter than the standard wedge seats that i have at the moment,
a bucket type would do,

any advice would be great

Regards Tony

PS still holding on to the original seat smile

Most TVR seats would probably fit the Wedge, but I choose the later Chim / Griff ones as my replacement, even went in the existing holes in the floor and were nice and comfy with the extra support that they offered

I looked at various, but most after market were too wide and would look a bit squashed.

Although I must say that at Wedge Fest there were a couple of nice seats in cars, and more recently quite liked the look of Stevev8s ? new yellow wedge he has just aquired, as they went with the look of the rest of the car

Doesn't fit the requirement for 'lighter' but the best seats I have seen / tried in a Wedge are a set of 400se seats that D&C trim rebuilt.
At a glance they look the same but are firmer & comfortable and the side bolsters are deeper giving improved support. They are the seats shown in this months Sprint.

I replaced the original driver's seat in my '86 280i with one from a '91 Miata MX-5. It fits nicely but 3 new bolt holes are needed.

The seat bottom is a bit taller than the original plus the side bolster makes getting in - with the steering wheel full down - a minor rub. When test fitting, I added a spacer under the rear mounts which has gotten my head a bit close to the windshield header so I'm going to takes that out and see if I can flatten the ends of the tracks a bit more to lower the seat. smash

As soon as I get new leather and cooler weather, I'll redo both seats and change out the passenger seat too.

And the headrest speakers (if upgraded) are fabulous - you can actually hear the radio and the rumble. cloud9
