Just noticed something earlier.. My SEAC is a FLAPPER biggrin

It's the one thing i miss(ed) with my 400. Being a hot wire it didn't pop and bang. frown

This one does! Only little pops/bangs so far as i've only driven it 3 times, and then gently as i'm finishing the running regime.

Plan is to change the standard exhaust silencer for a more 'sporty' affair, then give her some beans. Should sound awesome then.

Pops and bangs on the over run make me grin as much as when i boot it.

Wayne - that's excellent..

Something my SEAC missed was the pops and bangs as it's a hot wire.

Mind you - now I have an Emerald - I can have a pops and bangs map on one of the map switch positions one of the other guys with an Emerald did a pops and bangs map and said it was like having a gatteling gun biggrin

Flappers are awesome arent they! The pops and bangs from ours is unbelieveable, ask Blaine or Gandalf!

The 450 has some serious grunt, and we've found out that our engine is rather special with Cosworth Pistons!!

I thought all the 400SE's and above had cosworth pistons, I know mine does. 1989 400SE flapper.

That's what i thought too, NCK engines...Cossie pistons, or am i getting confused with just SEAC's?

In another thread it was mentioned that only the 390SEs (and SEACs) had the Cossie pistons,
and later engines were a little less sophisticated...hope not. frown

Mine has a 1995 hotwire Chim pre-serp, so heavens knows what it's got.
I think my flapper 390 was quicker though, but heavier on juice and oil.

None of the Chim 4.0 had cosworth piston, IFAIK, the engines came from LR, and just had a camshaft change and different ECU chip.

by this time the 4.0 was at the bottom of the range, where as the SE/SEAC was at the top at there time.

my 400SE also had ported heads. and double valve springs.

I think the 350SE used the chim engine/method
