Erm, my dipped beam is not working on the nearside pod (400SE rectangular ones).

Is this a simple fix, or do I have to take the thing apart ?

I have tried hitting it with a large hammer. smash...joking !

This is the first time I've actually wanted to use the blinkin lights. irked

Blown filament? Corroded connector? Broken wire? Wrong day of the week? hehe

Right, after my recent excursion into this, the wiring goes from the near side to off side. So if the off side is working try the bulb or bulb connectors. Mine were skanky (crimped only) so replaced the socket that goes on the bulb. Vehicle wiring products sell them and they can be soldered.

Also, seeing as it all flew apart in the bump, the connector that fed the bulb in the loom on both sides needed a bit of TLC to get good contacts again. They were also intermittent. Passed the MOT but then went all shonky.

Oh yeah, all the earths went to the nearside suspension pillar on the chassis.

ETA, try the simple stuff first, the bulb is a bh to get out if the rubber seal is in correctly. Light needs to come out and dismantled to release the boot to release the bulb. At least mine did, explains the manual saying its a garage job.
