JJ. Why not just leave it advertised and wait? As I see it there is no smear if a car is advertised for a long period of time - in fact you could loose out if a buyer appears and yours is not advertised. You obviously want to sell and have tried off and on for ages. Just leave it up for sale with no price against it.
Any way, all the best to you JJ.

Good thought Dicky -
I have in the past thought that advertising for a long time can be detrimental to selling a car - the 'God! What's wrong with that; it's been advertised for ages' syndrome, but it may well be worth running an ad for a while.
When I've advertised it in the past, I've been in two minds, so have been happy to keep it when not sold.
I shall most likely reinstate the ad.. The main reason for pulling it just now was that it had a time limit on it as I had wanted to buy a Benz, and that was only available to me until 07 October.
Thank you for your thoughts.

I was in the same position some time back - I had a car which was much much nicer than the run of the mill cars, and deliberately decided to market it non stop in the hope that someone would spot it one day. I had it priced high and didn't advertise in the club magazine as the cognoscenti would reckon I was being very optimistic.
And after a year (no, I wasn't in a hurry!) someone who'd decided he fancied a car like mine on the spur of the moment came along and snapped my hand off. And it didn't cost me a penny in advertising.

And no, it wasn't a TVR. But very similar in construction...
