stuck in a lot of traffic going uphill. alot of time on the clutch creeping up the hill in traffic. afterwoods when trying to put the power down the clutch started slipping. went home left it for half an hour, tried it again and all ok. the clutch has only done about 3.5k miles and is an uprated 500 jobbie. is this normal for it to slip after prolonged uphill clutch usage or is there something wrong.
any ideas
thanks
anthony

Hi Anthony - hope all is well.

Never known them to slip unless worn. As you rightly say, your uprated 500 clutch has done very little milage and can't have that much wear.

How was it slipping? i.e. when I replaced the clutch last year, it started slipping in 3rd gear when accelerating hard in 3rd gear but no other gears made it slip.

I don't know if something could have leaked onto it or anything could be adjusted?

hi lee all is well and loving the car!
spoke to tga today and they said in prolonged uphill traffic the clutch plate can get hot and cause a glaze on the clutch itself, the clutch will right itself.took it out today and all is fine again but will continue to monitor it
thanks again lee and hope is all well

There is no adjustment really. If it only slips occasionally but then behaves itself again, don't worry about it.

Did you have the pressure plate replaced too?

yes Sure did - the tension in the springy fingers (how technical am I?) had gone a bit limp so the pressure plate was also replaced.
