Just got off the Phone to Classicline after declaring all the new engine mods ( and explaining that the only reason they were done was cos of a terminal failure ).
Supplied them with the full engine spec, and estimated bhp output.
Made a point of telling them TVR's claimed output, and was told that although the engine was "new", with a new CAM, new heavy duty clutch, new heads etc there was little chance of actually obtaining the quoted 275bhp. The underwriter agreedand the new quote is below

Origional Quote, me and my dad to drive, 5000 miles PA, was £260:00

The new revised Quote details as above, except the premium is different ......£256.00 !

I tried to declare all the mods to mine, send them the build report etc but they just accepted that it was around what TVR claimed originally and gave my a nice low unlimited milage quote.

I use classic line too !

It's amazing ... < £300 - less than half the cost
for insurance that my old Griff 500 was to insure.

Good old Wedges..

Paid just over £300 for mine with Heritage. Tried Classic Line, but they wanted you to have at least one years experience with a performance car.

Oldie in my case is 43 yesterday.
Being in the motor trade though I normally have to pay a penalty on any premium, guess that offsets age discount

I also use my for work so have business cover and unlimited mileage. The premium is £319, but then I'm 57 yo, so they probably think I won't last out the year of the premium, and will die from over excitement from driving a Wedge.
