The other week whilst enjoying the continually unusual sight of Sun in the UK and just before heading off on hols, I decided to take the 400 out for a spin - reversed out of the garage, left to warm up - got to the bottom of the road and noticed zero oil pressure + light with a bag of spanners rattling under the bonnet! - first mechanical let down.. rather swiftly sent off to Peninsula who confirmed kn*ckered oil pump - hopefully no other damage.. fingers crossed.. hopefully they'll mistake my car for Jasons again and give it a respray

Hi Seamus,

Hope its all okay. When my 400 did the same at Mania I feared the worst, but all that needed replacing was the base on the oil pump (relief valve stuck). With the new pump fitted I also noticed better oil pressure.
Hope its fixed soon.

Cheers guys - should find out tomorrow what the overall damage is.. if lucky enough to only be a pump, I can see a respray as a little pressy coming on. (trying not to speak too soon)

If you do get it painted, please let me know how you get on. Im considering a respray for mine over the winter and I'd be interested to hear how it goes.

No worries Dave - spoke to Neil @ Peninsula today - seems they are having problems getting an oil pump .. however, they are hoping for it to arrive tomorrow (later today rather) and then we should see where we stand. Respray wise - they offer various alternatives as they have contacts with several body shops - I will likely go for the intermediate option..
