Yesterday at the Whitby run, Trickie Dickie was wondering what this bit (with black cable) was on my motor...different to his.

Looks like my new speedo cable to me, going into a sensor ?

Also the bit on the red mounting plate with the hydraulic pipe ?

As (fortunately) I've not needed to mess with the engine yet, I'll rely on the oily handed experts. smile

This is Chim motor of course.

The bit on the red mounting plate is the rear brake presure limiting valve.

The bit in the speedo cable is the road speed sensor - fitted to Hot Wire ignition. On over run it reduces fuel when moving (reduces pops and bangs) when it detects slow or nil road speed it allows fuel to maintain tickover.

I agree with djc100, the brake bias valve for hard braking, the seacs were never fitted with this unit and the sencer on the speedo wont exsist on the seac either due to them been a flapper system - much better on the over run pops and bagns

The engine in your car is just there for looks .. that little unit is actually what is powering your car.

Don't touch it !
