Hi all you wedge fellow men
My engine started knocking slightly and would not idle.Sounded like camshaft or top end.I shreiked with horror so I stripped it down and found number 8 piston had broken crown due to pinking / movement of distributor.
Big panic oh no who do you call.after various phonecalls phoned V8 developments.They supplied all the parts including cam conversion to Kent 404 with solid lifters new pistons,shells,full rebuild.Now i took her for a test drive although I am running her in.
From cold you need to rev it quite high but once warm it is OK. I would recommend this if you are having any engine work done.I cant wait till shes run to see what power difference,The exhaust is louder but there is reduced popping but the power diff is amazing.
MOT monday then we are back in business,every time i get it her and start her up heart that note WOW.
soon as she is rin in timing needs adjusting at 4k then ill let u all know the power difference.
