Steering Adjustment

Never played with this before, I knew the up/ down existed - it says so in the book, but should I have forward/ back reach adjustment? It would be very useful, but i'm a little concerned that I can't find any references to it! Don't want to start driving along an end up with a disconnected shaft between my legs
