Good luck..
We have a similar list of cars on the SEAC pages :

but to stop scammers - you really cannot list chassis number as it makes life too easy for fraudsters.

I just purchased a 1980 Tasmin FHC FH5023F1, manufactured in March of that year. Has had extensive work done on it, with 2300 miles on a nicely rebuilt engine, rebuilt transmission, aluminum radiator etc. It was imported into Canada and originally sold by TVR North America in Scarborough, Ontario.
If I knew how to post a picture, I would.

Seem to recall reading that quite a few of the early ones where exported to the USA but where impounded due a 'hiccup' in the paperwork and eventually came back to England.
Can anyone confirm this? As it may eplain the late registration of early models......... or am I confusing this with another model?

I'm sure it was a batch of M series cars that there held up the US. About £ 500,000 worth from what I've read, there was then a few year's pause before exports resumed. Can anyone confirm this? By way of confirmation I am asking if mine may be the oldest 280i Tasmin FHC still on the road.

There was a silver FHC at wedgefest that I think was up for sale. It was the motor show car from Oct 1980 (I remember seeing it there as well) and was shown alongside the new convertible and +2 models. It's slightly different from the very earliest models in that the rear bumper wraps round, and most likely isn't quite as old as yours, but must be pretty close. Very nice all the same.Phil
