Avid readers of this forum will know that I have replaced the head gaskets on my beast (no longer a Tasminger!) and had to overhaul the plenum and valves. The engine runs better than ever with so much more power throughout the range its started scaring me again. However, since putting it all back together the tickover is now faster than before at 1200rpm even though I took care not to alter any settings. It is extremely stable and consistent at 1200rpm whether hot or cold until I touch the pedal on the right when loud scary things happen.

I've checked the throttle assy and the throttle is definitely closing OK, but the tickover continues to be high even when hot (since the repair and new rad the temp no longer exceeds 90deg). I have disconnected the cold start injector which I now realise is a waste of space (if you haven't done it do it now) as the car starts first turn hot or cold.

Tweak the grub screw holding the butterfly open? Screw it in about 1 to 1.5 turns.
