SEAC has not been running right, so I decided to put my elementary mechanical skills into action this morning. Suspected ignition so i had a look at the inside of the distributor cap first and the contacts didn't look right to me.

So fitted new cap and hey presto it's running perfectly again. I even managed to get the leads back on the cap in the right order first time!

Now have to pluck up courage to sort out the pop up lights....

When you've finished, can you sort mine to?

Gerald - nice one.. it's very satisying when you resolve something like that yourself..

Mind you - you really should not work out in such cold.

Your hands have turned blue.

Hi Gerald

Its good to fixe these kind of problems your self, if you had to take it to a garage they would have charged a fortune.

My 350i has never idled properly since I have had it and frequently cuts-out at traffic lights.

I've checked and re-checked for air leaks, sensor problems, etc.

Placed a bid on an airflow meter on ebay, won it for a tenner, fitted it and now it is like a different car!

Satisfying stuff!

I'm just upgrading from working on a 1 in 3 drive to a luxury double garage built to current habitable standards. Can't wait for it to be finished...

already on order! This is my Christmas present to the Wedge.
I can sense the greenness already smile

The design has changed slightly (as has the exchange rate!) so the price quoted now is +delivery and VAT at the prevailing rate at point of sale! Though I did get a show discount at the NEC...

Garage... Check.
Ramp... Check.
Fridge... Check.
Beer... Check.

Hold on... Where did all of these mates come from?

Should I change my nickname to BillyLoadsaMates?

Heater shouldn't be necessary as we are talking insulated cavity wall construction with epoxy floor to keep your toes warm and dry. If it does get cold a fan heater should take the edge off.
