I received an email from the venue Park Hall Hotel this morning, and it would appear that after the agreement was reached they are now 'moving the goal posts' requesting a financial commitment, risk assesments and insurance.

Obviously these are not minor problems as the whole ethos behind BBWF has always been a free event. And as such it may be that we now have to look for another venue unless these obstacles can be overcome.

With this in mind PLEASE DO NOT BOOK ACCOMADATION, untill further notice.

Not sure , but think the TVRCC helped out with some of this on the last few BBWF as seem to recall EC asking for most of this - apart from the financial bit.

Personally think its a bit off asking for a carpark charge, when we would be using / paying for their other facilities !

Have been back in touch with the Events organiser, managed to iron out some of the issues and now awaiting a return call, hopefully with good news, failing that I have identified a couple of other venues that will be suitable.

...Frack 'em, if they don't to play ball. There is a credit crunch on, if they don't want a ste load of people book their rooms and drink 'em dry and pay over the odds bar prices then they will be the next to go under!.

They don't deserve to be in business....I despair for this country. rolleyes

All they had to do was phone Ettington. Let them have an empty hotel.

Don't despair yet, not prepared to give up at the first hurdle we have quite a few venues suitable in the North West if Park Hall can't see the £ signs

We had a similar issue. We were asked for about £500 for an event this year, and didn't think people would pay, so we said we wouldn't go and they lose over 100 cars going and all they will spend. Pkus of course, if people enjoy themseleves, they may go back, recomedn friends etc.

The fee was waived. Good luck, it's a pain doing these things.

That's a shame Tony, but there loss. rolleyes

Am i right in thinking that if all TVR's are made welcome that the TVR club will help cover with insurance etc..?

Are you still only considering the NW of the country?

Tony, there is the Thistle Haydock Hotel, Haydock. [who at the time were willing] if things go pear shape with Park Hall, contact - Linda [haydock] 08719711739. good luck. PS-- As the lads say fk em,if they don't want the revenue then some other hotels could be more than gratefull to accommodate 100 wedgers for 1 or 2 nights. [depending on the date we would be there for 2nights]. Good luck .. john..
