Bought the car last year, it's got 37k miles on the clock with stacks of history inc full tvr dealer services.

Took it to Northampton motorsport in the middle of october when i thought it wasn't running right. 154hp at the wheels(195hp at the crank) wow! not good.

Changed plugs, leads, throttle pot and dizzy cap, fitted f.s.e. boost valve and altered ign timing to 12 degrees btdc.

On arrival at TVR Power today it was turning out 180hp at the wheels. By the time they had finished, it was decided that the cam is worn so needs replacing (not unheard of) but was turning 192.5hp at the wheels!

My question is how much power should it be producing? we all know 275 crank horses is dreamland on NCK engines! don't we?

Has anyone with similar cars had theirs on te dyno lately? If so what sort of figures are you getting?

Sounds pretty healthy to me. My old 4.5 litre J.E. engined Wedge had 204 at the wheels at the Wedge Fest 07. It was a stump puller rather than a revvy engine but I think what you have there sounds pretty good. yes

Edited to add, just looked at your profile. I was very tempted with that car when it was for sale last year. thumbup

my 400se was showing 270.4 at the wheels at wedge fest 07, not sure if it is standard, but will be removing the heads soon.

TVR Power's dyno didn't convert to crank hp, but from the old reading and what other people seem to have i would have thought it producing around 240 at the crank.
