fhc window frames
Discussion
There's not usually much holding them in... a few self-tappers into the top of the triangle at the front of the door and two nuts/bolts at the bottom of the door.
You should be able to slide the frame up off the glass, but of course you'll need to pack the glass as you do so, so it doesn't get damaged. Probably easier if you lower the glass first.

The last I heard, the factory would subcontract the fabrication to another company. They would copy some frames, but the results were (allegedly) disappointing and probably wouldn't fit your car. Oh, and £350 + VAT (1997). Each.
Later frames were fabricated fom a different type of channel to the early ones: also some home-made frames used whatever method was available! When I did repairs to my FHC, I worked out a way to make small pieces and let them in, but it was very time-consuming and difficult to do neatly. Might have to come up with a better method if/when my 390 needs its frames repairing...
Given the factory price, I think there's an opening for some enterprising chap to make a few bob...

Now I'm confused. Taking the frame out was dead simple until the screw bracket at bottom rear of frame wouldn't go past the door lock. Loosened lock as far as possible but still can't remove frame without first moving lock and can't remove lock without first moving frame!!!
Does this mean the whole window mechanism needs loosening and moving or am I missing something obvious?
