Is there a source for replacement swirl pots, and does anyone know the ID of the hose that the pot T's into between the tanks - I would guess it must be at least 3/4", but I dont want to disturb anything until I'm sure I can get a replacement.

Thanks.

Think I read on here that RT and TVR parts are potential sources, or you can have one made and use a filter between it and the pump.

About the fuel hose sizes to the swirlpot, sorry don't know anymore. Replaced the whole lot on mine several years ago and the swirlpot on my 350i doesn't T-into the two fuel lines from the tanks: there is a t-piece and then it connects to the swirlpot with only one entry. Would get a swirlpot first and take it from there.

Had a look at Richards site - and the catalogue from 2004! The swirl pot shown looks like mine. Shall give him a call. Couldn't see anything listed on the TVR car parts site though.

Cheers Rob.

Any one else replaced theirs?

There are 2 sizes
The 400SE cars have larger inlets IIRC there 1" on the 400SE and 3/4" for the 350's

Also remember the Ali ones DONT have a pre-filter, so you will need to add a pre-filter after the swirl pot, before the fuel pump, else your be lucky to do 1000 miles.

Let me know if you still need the exact size, and I'll measure mine tonight.

Too late I'm sure, but if you've got the size handy that would be great

Cheers

My 350SE had 25mm / 1 inch to the tanks, on this type. this also acts as the tank balance pipe (plus a breather at the top) on the smaller connections. I believe there is an additional balance pipe.

I'll measure tonight, but all the SE car's had 1" 25mm, the std 3.5 350 cars had the smaller inlets. the 350SE have 3.9 engine's so properly why they they was fitted with the larger 1" swirl pot inlets.

The swirlpot will also have a breather connection at the top also.

ALSO REMEMBER YOU WILL NEED A PRE FILTER as the new swirl pots dont have them

I'm sure I saw something from an S Forum whereby a guy went into production making them to order. Or was it on here?

Removed the swirl pot and associated hoses today. If your swirl pot rattles, the reason is solder (presumably left over from the manufacture of the tanks). Thanks to TVRLeigh for a source of pre-filters.

Also if the steel one rattles, then that normally the pre-filter they poorly fitted inside, that comes loose, and stops working.
